It was a nice weekend, dog sitting for my friend Liz, checking out a farmer’s market that I’d never been to and hitting up a Twins game.
My 12 mile long run yesterday was broken up into three parts: a 2.3 mile run to the gym, 7.5 miles on the treadmill while I watched the Twins game and beach volleyball, and then another 2.3 miles home. Besides accidentally hitting the ‘stop’ button on the treadmill after four miles and then having to start up again and my knee bothering me which forced me to walk for awhile, the run went pretty well. I took it slow – ever since the tri I have been having some leg/feet issues – so I wanted to be careful on this run.
With that said — I’m so sore today! I can’t imagine how I’m going to feel after 18 miles, let alone 26.2.
There are less than ten weeks to go until the marathon. I am super busy every weekend now leading up to the marathon so it’s going to get interesting to try and fit in these long runs.
