So..the exciting news I’ve been hinting at: I just found out that I was chosen to be a Ragnar Relay ambassador! I’m so excited to get started and meet my fellow area ambassadors. More details to come soon šŸ™‚

GymPact, if you don’t already know, is a GPS-based app that you check in with at your gym. You set a pact each week and a dollar amount for your stakes. Then, you enter your credit card information. If you don’t make your pact your credit card is charged however many days you missed your pact multiplied by your stakes. So, if my pact is three days per week and I set my stakes at $10 and I only go once, I would owe $20. How’s that for motivation to make your pact?

On the flip side, if you make your pact, you make money. The money from the people who did not make their pact gets split up. If your pact is set pretty low and your stakes are also set low, you only make a buck or two each week, but it does add up and if you up your pact/stakes, you can make a few dollars each week! Best part — recently GymPact partnered with RunKeeper so now you can count runs/walks/biking over 30 minutes towards your pact.

I’ve been using GymPact since the day they launched and have never missed my pact. I’ve also used my funds towards fun things like Lululemon and race entries!   1. I totally love that idea! Do you know if you can use run keeper or map my run exclusively if you don’t have a gym membership? I guess that would only work on runs that are outside and not on my treadmill. But something I would consider spring/summer/fall when I am outside!

    • Yup — you can use it exclusively! And places like Corepower count too. Right now office gyms, etc don’t count. And you could always set your pact pretty low then šŸ™‚ I sometimes adjust my pact from week to week.

      PS – I got the headbands today!!! I’ve been wearing one around the house all afternoon šŸ™‚
