First of all, check out this video and help Michele become an Ironman!
OK now onto the giveaway! The only pair of arm warmers that I own, I got as part of the race swag from the Women Run the Cities race I ran a couple of years ago. They’re super fun but they’re getting a bit worn and are also fraying in a few places, so I’ve been shopping for new ones. So you can imagine my delight when Ahmelie reached out about doing a product review and giveaway on the blog!
Slox are great for early in the run when you are a bit chilled, but come off easy and can slip in your waistband or pocket without having to pull something over your head while you are running or force you to carry something bulky for the rest of your run. They are also great for other sports like soccer for those cool night practices when you really don’t want a long sleeved shirt under your jersey (as you will warm up) but start out cold. Ahmelie tells me that they have also been a hit with dance students — they wear them as leggings. Cool!
The cool thing about Ahmelie is that she is first and foremost an artist – she just also happens to make a product that is great for runners! And she’s letting one lucky winner win a 3-PACK of Slox and you get to choose which three designs you’d like! Pretty sweet.
But first, what did I think of my Slox? LOVED them. I wore them on a run the other day.
It was a pretty brisk day (but nothing compared to what late November is usually like in Minnesota!) I wore a pair of running crops and a tank with my Slox.
They stayed in place my entire run (I ran about 3.4 miles that day) — there was no tugging at them or any uncomfortable spots. And bonus — they look cute. I now find myself trying to plan my running outfits around my Slox. The ones I selected for this review are the purple sparkle Slox and then I also had won another pair on a different giveaway. I LOVE the bright green for running later in the day as it starts to get dark out.
So I still might buy a…(OK this is going to sound dumb)….more “hardcore” pair of arm warmers. I’m not sure that sparkles and polka dots (even though they’re REALLY cute) is all that intimidating 😉 Just kidding — sort of.
