So I’ve shared the exciting news about being selected to participate in the Verizon Health and Fitness Voices program — but what exactly does that mean? It means that, along with about 16 other fitness bloggers in the Midwest, I have been provided with a wireless device and six months of service in exchange for my honest opinions about the product. As a former (mostly happy) Verizon customer, I was really excited to be asked to be a part of the program.
My last day in Chicago started at around 7 a.m., after an amazing night of sleep. I woke up to the sound of rain outside. Since I let myself sleep in, I didn’t have time for a morning workout. Instead, I made myself a cup of coffee and caught up on emails and blogs. I also started packing (sad) and got ready before meeting everyone in the hotel lobby to walk to our training.
We kicked things off with introductions and getting to know more about the program. Then, it was time for the big reveal! Kristen, Brenda and Iskra started handing out the devices!
OMG I almost died when I saw the Fitbit. It’s totally something that I’ve been wanting to try out but didn’t feel like I had the money to spend on it. Can’t wait to get it out of the packaging and to try it out.
Now if you know me, you know I’m permanently attached to my iPhone. So the idea of getting a new phone was a little uncomfortable at first. But when John, the Motorola rep, started walking through the features of the phone, I started to get excited to try it out. I’ll be sharing more as I use it more, but right away I’m excited about the following features:
- Mobile hotspot (I’m currently using it in the airport as I type this post)
- Durability: I drop my phone like 500,000 x/day. The Droid Razr HD is reinforced with, get this — Kevlar. AND the screen is water-repellant. Check out the Motorola rep pouring water onto the phone:
- Fitbit app
- Speed. It’s SO much faster than my iPhone.
- Smart actions
That’s it for now. I’m finishing up this post now (just got home) and I just took the fitbit out of its packaging. Can’t wait to set it up and start using it!
