FAB Fitness: weekly workouts 1/6 – 1/12

Monday: 3×3:00s

OK, I’ll admit it, I was a bit nervous going into this one. The third day of running in a row and my first speed workout in a long time. But really, it went well. Here’s what it looked like:

15 minute warm-up @ 9:22 pace

3:00 @ 8:34 pace

3:00 recovery @ 9:22 pace

3:00 @ 8:20 pace

3:00 recovery @ 9:22 pace

3:00 @ 8:13 pace

10 minute cool down @ 9:22 pace

Monday was also my first day in our new office space! Our desks are being installed in a couple of weeks, so this isn’t my permanent set up, but it works for now:


Tuesday: REST DAY

Wednesday: 30 minutes easy (9:33 pace)

It’s been a busy week at work so I went into the office early and then in an effort to avoid the right-after-work gym rush, waited until around 7:30 to get my run in. For some reason, this 30 minute “easy” run felt tough. My heart rate seemed to be high right off the bat and my legs were tired. It seemed warmer than usual in the gym, so I don’t think that helped.

Thursday: 3x800s REST DAY

I was all excited to try out the fitness center in my new office building, but once my headache started turning into a migraine, I knew that wasn’t likely to happen. I headed home mid-afternoon and was out for the rest of the night with the worst migraine I’ve had in a long time.

Friday: REST DAY

Saturday: 45 minutes easy (9:53 pace)

A bit slower than I would’ve liked, but the paths weren’t completely clear and the bad footing slowed me down a bit. But I felt so much better than I did on Wednesday and good company made this run go by quickly.

Weekly totals:

Run / Total time – 1:57:46 / Total distance – 12.3 miles

Pretty happy with my workouts from the past week. I wish I wouldn’t have missed Thursday, but there wasn’t anything I could do about it. I’m also happy with the amount of cooking I did this past week and have really cut back on going out to eat.

      And I’m jealous of all of your swimming! ALthough I have no good reason (injury) for why I’m not swimming more. Oh, except for my bag with all of my swim gear randomly disappeared. SO strange.
