Spring races and an OOFOS giveaway!

I did not receive any compensation for this post.  Disclosure: I did receive the product for free to try. All opinions are my own.

So before I get to the giveaway, I have to just say that I just realized that my first race of the spring season is THIS WEEKEND already! Ahhh, where did time go? Since I haven’t been running, this will not be a race that I will “race.” Although the low temperature might be the motivation I need to speed it up just a bit. But either way, this is a favorite race of mine that I use to kick off the spring racing season each year, so I’m looking forward to it. Then, after this race it’ll be time to get down to business for Shamrock Shuffle and likely Get in Gear.

When I was dealing with all of my plantar faciitis issues last year, my PT made me wear tennis shoes for two weeks straight. Once I was able to stop wearing them all of the time, she told me it was time to find some more sensible footwear. So I purchased my first pair of Birkenstocks, which I adore and give my feet great support, but after a long run or a long day on my feet, they don’t exactly give you that “ahhhhhh feeling,” know what I mean? Well, the folks at OOFOS™ contacted me to review a pair of their shoes and let me tell you, I wish I would have discovered them sooner. I love them and they’re so cushy — they definitely make my feet go “ahhhh!” (Or, “OO” as the OOFOS folks like to say.) This comes from the fact that OOFOS uses an OOfoam™ technology and a patented footbed design. This basically means they’ve got great arch support, great cushioning and superb impact absorption.

I went with the OOriginal in black…

..but I think I’ll need to order another pair in a fun color for this summer. I think the slides would also be perfect for around a pool or everyday wear. Since it’s not exactly sandal weather in Minnesota right now, I’ve been wearing my OOFOS around the house since I’m not supposed to be barefoot with all of the hardwood we have. And when I was in California recently, you can bet that I sported them around, showing off my hot pink pedicure!

So now it’s your turn. Want to win a pair of your own? Take a look at the OOFOS website and leave a comment below telling me which style and color you’d want to win. For an extra entry, share this giveaway (make sure to include a link to this post) on Twitter or Facebook and leave another comment saying you did so. And make sure to check out the OOFOS Facebook and Twitter pages. I’ll choose and announce a winner on Monday, March 3. Good luck!

What I’ve been up to lately

Hello! Sorry for being MIA lately. I just haven’t truthfully had a ton of motivation to spend a lot of time online. Long days at work lately have made me want to avoid my laptop in the evenings. But I’ve been busy!

Busy with a lot of eating:

And online shopping:

Most comfy sweats ever!

And busy with some winter fun:

And more eating:

And then I spent the last week in California for work which was a welcome break from the snow and cold!

Since the hotel I was staying at was just over a mile away from the convention center, I put on my running shoes and walked to and from the trade show each day. I had every intention of running in the hotel fitness center or outside in the evenings, but after being on my feet all day, it just didn’t happen. I think my PF and calf issues are cleared up so that break from running did some good. Excited to dive back in this week!

I’ll be back soon with an update post about how training is going, what spring races I’ve decided on and some fun giveaways! So tell me:

What have you been up to?

What spring races are you running?

Going anywhere warm? (Unless you already live somewhere warm)
